Neck to Neck Battle
Las Vegas was a blast! Words are not enough.
Surprisingly, my knees did not hurt. My back was not in pain. I felt good during the entire 5-day trip to the entertainment capital of the world. And I wanted to stay longer. I fancied living there and enjoying all the bright and vibrant lights in the next few years. There were just too many exciting things to do, too many wonderful places to see, and too much delicious and sumptuous food to eat. Thanks to my doctors, my virtual doctors, my online doctors, my telehealth doctors, for making me feel young and fresh again. This 70++ year-old retired engineer feels like a 40-year-old alpha male once more. Today, I am proud to say that I have been rejuvenated. At least for now.
I faithfully followed all my telehealth doctors’ advice. They have been extremely amazing. I listened carefully to all their important dos and don’ts for me to manage the pain on my knees and on my lower back in the most effective manner. I felt the warmth and care from them, their genuine concern for my health and well-being. Without thinking twice, I obediently took all the necessary drugs as prescribed and advised by these trusted and fantastic online professionals and experts. Though everything has been virtual so far, there was not a single instance that I felt alone and away from them. It felt good, immensely good, hearing their soothing and assuring voices. I trust them. I believe them.
And I will continue to trust and believe them.

On our way home, we simply could not stop talking about our incredible and spectacular journey in Las Vegas. We will never ever forget the Strip. That 2.5-mile-long central section of Las Vegas Boulevard, with all those enormous entertainment palaces, luxurious hotels, mind-blowing concert and performance venues, and exquisite restaurants and dining spots, was witness to the greatest and most exhilarating vacation that my beautiful family has ever experienced. And we will be forever thankful to the nicest, kindest, and most hospitable people, workers, and hotel boys for making it happen. Of course, kudos again to my extremely reliable telehealth doctors.
On to our next adventure! To infinity and beyond!
After our calm and peaceful 3-hour flight, our plane has finally landed. We were almost back home. It was undeniably bittersweet. I already miss Las Vegas! We all miss Las Vegas! After spending hours sharing our personal anecdotes and group stories amongst each other on the plane, fondly rekindling the not-so-old phenomenal and sensational memories in Las Vegas, we were already thrilled and electrified in planning our next trip as one big happy family. And as we were one by one standing up from our comfortable and relaxing plane seats, my dear Laura, the love of my life, the mother of my four beautiful children, the wind beneath my wings, was having a hard time standing up. She could not move!
Laura could not move her neck! She was in pain, excruciating pain, the same pain that I felt on my knees and on my back the past weeks. My dear wife was battling to move her head forward and to stand up. But it was unsuccessful. It was a major failure. The pain was just too much for her to bear. And I hate seeing her so helpless. I felt so helpless. In God We Trust.
Just like me, Laura does not have any existing medical condition. She has no history of joint, muscle, or bone problems. My wife is a rockstar! She is my Madonna! She is a 70-year-old version of Jennifer Lopez! She is my senior Arian Grande! She can dance, run, jog, bike, swim, and groove! She has the moves! But now, she could not move. She could barely move. Her neck, her entire body, my dear Laura, is stuck and glued on the plane seat as if she was paralyzed. And I could not do anything. I did not know what to do. Simply clueless! Her 70++ year-old knight in shining armor suddenly is useless.
Is it that bad? Is it really that bad? Oh no!
What’s causing the pain on her neck? Why is the pain only on her neck? Oh my god!
Bone pain? Maybe. I don’t know.
Joint pain? Maybe. I don’t have a clue.
Muscle pain? Maybe. I have no idea.
Nerve pain? Maybe. I am confused.
One of the young and attractive brunette flight attendants immediately approached us. She kindly offered to help my wife as she should. She asked my wife some basic questions to calm her down. And assured her that she will be fine. Her lovely face was serene, and her pouty lips were smiling the entire time that she was assisting and comforting my dear Laura. She was there for my wife, and I really appreciated that. In Flight Attendants We Trust.
I love flight attendants! They always know what to do! They do their jobs efficiently and effectively! How I wished my knees and back were still in pain! I just wanted to test her commitment and dedication to her chosen profession, and her skills and abilities in hospitality service and care. That’s all. Believe me. Trust me.
Unexpectedly, another fresh and pleasing lady went to our area. She introduced herself as a Filipino-American nurse from California. And she also started asking my wife a few questions. She explained the possible causes of her sudden agonizing neck pain and advised her to go see a online doctor and be tested immediately once on the ground inside the airport or proceed to the nearest hospital. Since my wife has no existing medical condition and no history of any health problems or issues, the unassuming nurse just allowed my dear Laura to relax and rest first before asking her to move her body forward, stand up, and walk. It took around 20 minutes for my wife to be at peace, to stop panicking, and to courageously withstand and resist the intense pain that she was feeling on her neck. Fight Laura! You can do this! You can make it! Slowly but surely. In Laura We Trust.
My dear Laura moved forward. Success! Amen.
My dear Laura stood up. Success! Amen!
My dear Laura Walked! Success! Amen!
It’s a miracle! Hallelujah! Amen!
In Nurses We Trust.
My dear Laura did not need a neck brace for her to be able to move from her plane seat. She did not have to be carried by me and my son to be able to get out of the plane. She never had to sit on a wheelchair to be able to move around in the airport going to our vehicle. She did not have to take any medication to ease or manage the tormenting pain on her neck. There was no emergency procedure that was administered by the Filipino-American nurse from California. It was unnecessary.
Online Pain Management for Neck
The pain is gone. It was a miracle. Maybe. Maybe not.
She just had an extreme panic attack. And she could not control herself. Understandable.
She did feel pain. But she was hysterical. Acceptable.
My dear Laura made it to our van. She was audacious and brave. Unstoppable.
I am proud of my 70-year-old wife. And I promise to always be by her side. Inseparable.
At that time, we still did not know the exact cause of her neck pain. Inside the van, we never stopped thinking of the possible reasons why she felt that severe pain on her neck. It remained a mystery. She needed to be checked. She needed to be tested. She needed to consult a doctor ASAP.
